Their alternators look nice, it was a good idea to make an alternator in the shape of a Lucas dynamo but...
Over the years that we sold them we had many problems and Alton was extremely slow to solve them, while I could apologize with my customers.
Since 2009 we wait for a compensation for a batch of 12 Altons with a built in problem (they would all die after 100 kms, because of a faulty bush. Mr Hamon admitted this, but he sold them anyway) , that I sent back to France. I want to sell a good product and if there is a problem I try to avoid that or help my customer to solve it. And always as soon as possible so that you can use your bike again. Or if all else fails, give you your money back.
Mr Hamon sees this differently; has not bothered to sort out the problems, nor pay me my money back. That's why I regret ever getting involved with Alton.
There is also a dynamo of a loyal customer missing since then. Sorry Piet.
Ten years ago Alton has reacted. They don't like this story here. Maybe they'll pay up after 15 years....
Paul Hamon is just a crook.
